Monday Funday

Nothing says Monday like a random assortment of thoughts!

First of all, GO EAT AT CHILI'S TONIGHT!!! 100% of the proceeds go to St. Jude. Yes... 100%. You get food, the hospital gets resources to help sick kids. Why wouldn't you?!? Stuart and I will be picking up ours to-go and gearing up for the season premiere of How I Met Your Mother!!! Ahhh - ROBIN in a wedding dress! Barney as a groom! I can't handle it!

Second of all, I am a firm believer that going home and a little girl time can do wonders for the soul :). Loved being home Saturday night with one of  my bffs, celebrating Stuart's mom's birthday and seeing my parents for a while. Ahhhh, so nice. And so last minute!

In the bar Saturday before we decided to head home. So blurry but so indicative of us :)

First Skinny PSL of the season - they aren't my fav, but being as the first day of fall was Saturday, I had to try one. Not too bad - definitely a once in a while pumkiny treat :) I also may have liked the full fat version better, but I am trying to be good!!

Also, my Hokies got their first shutout of the season and we are rolling back on track!!!

What a perfect kick off to fall. Happy Monday!

AND GO EAT CHILIS!!!

Rain Rain, Cancel Work

Can we all just agree that rainy days should mean automatic work from home days, complete with huge sweatshirts and hot tea?

The work I don't mind so much. It's the venturing out into the drizzle that is not good for me. Or my hurr.

This weekend I made it to my favorite Georgia landmark. Yes, that is Publix. I don't know why I am obsessed with them, but I am. Much to the chagrin of my friends and Stuart.

I also watched my own team lose via iPhone app, and Stuart's team lose in person. It was not a good day for football for the state of Virginia. But we did get to spend time with two of our BFF's and pretty much favorite couple to spend time with. I also may have decided I will move to Atlanta because I miss my girlfriends so much. Paul went to UVA and so he and Stuart get along famously. And Heids and I have been BFFs for 10 years. Good lord we are old.

I also met this hottie:

If you can't read it, his shirt says, "Lord, if you're not coming back anytime soon, could you at least send back Ronald Reagan?". I don't usually get all political up here, and I am not planning to start, but goodness I love me some Ronald. I also don't usually take pictures with random guys, but the game was BORING and he was all kinds of interesting. He also almost got nacho cheese on me. Class-ay.

Sunday was spent getting some donuts, saying goodbye to friends and bopping by my aunt's for some pizza and time with most of my fam jam. And there were baby snuggles. Definitely worth the drive for those baby snuggles.

And now back to the grind. If I ever get my apartment finished - I'll show y'all some pictures. But lets see when I will have time for that? Probs round about never.

This weekend we are staying home and I CANNOT WAIT!

Happy rainy Tuesday y'all!

I Remember, and a Little Recap

"Tonight, I ask for your prayers for all those who grieve, for the children whose worlds have been shattered, for all whose sense of safety and security has been threatened. And I pray they will be comforted by a power greater than any of u
s, spoken through the ages in Psalm 23: 'Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I fear no evil, for You are with me.'" --President George W. Bush September 11, 2001.

I remember where I was. I remembered this morning when I heard Alan Jackson's song "Where Were You (When the World Stopped Turning)?". I remembered those men and women who lost their lives just going to work, I remembered the firefighters and police officers that lost their lives trying to save others. I remember the people that just got on an airplane that ended up in a field or building, and the people that worked in the Pentagon that day. I remember. And I am thankful to live in the best country in the world with the best firefighters, police officers and military that fight for my freedom and keep me safe here at home. I remember.

I just couldn't let this day go by without acknowledging it.

But - an update was requested, and an update you shall have!

I did my first official maid of honor duty and went to a bridal show with my bff!

We then jetted off to the Bahamas, where I won a little bit of cash money

And we spent lots of time babysitting my precious cousins!

The skinny arm was taught to the 6 year old

and I spent lots of time holding this little rascal.

We took pictures with the gorgeous scenery

and slowed down enough to take a picture in the aquarium.

I got nice and sunburned

and had my makeup done by the two year-old pro :).

I went to my last country concert for the summer during my last Friday night home with my bff and some of my favorite friends from High School.

And we made it to two Hokie games and a Cav game. :) ALL of which were won!

Ohhhh and one more thing... I GOT INTO GRAD SCHOOL!!!!

I Met a Squirrel and I Liked It...

I hope my boyfriend don't mind it ;)

That is my bff Gladys. She may or may not be the preppiest squirrel around that often decorates herself with both pearls and bows. Perfection!

As of today I have made it through almost TWO weeks of work! My first travel day is tomorrow and I am nervous/excited. Fortunately this is a training travel so I am going with another one of the AC's. PTL.

Also. I have been horrible about documenting the move, the job, the weekends, etc and I want to!

So here are a few I pulled off Instagram. I have 85094384095 pictures on my Mac, from, you know, the last month of my life that has completely flown by. But here are some of the highlights of the last week.

Oh look, its football...

And more football!

Yep - that is pretty much how we spend our time around here! Our friends got into town Friday night for S's birthday, and we sat around watching football. Saturday, clearly the big birthday tailgate (which I MUST recap) and the game, and Sunday we took a deep breath and relaxed before I worked all day and then we headed to Blacksburg for THE MOST STRESSFUL GAME OF MY LIFE on Monday night.

Yep, I worked Tuesday too. Nothing like 4 hours of sleep for some work productivity ;).

Tonight, I am cooking dinner and we will probably watch whatever college game comes on tonight. Since ya know, I missed out on spending some time at home last night because of the Giants-Cowboys game.

Pretty much my life can be summed up to this : work, sleep, eat, football, football, football, work.

And I wouldn't have it any other way :)

Happy Thursday!
