Random Tuesday Musings

Hi y'all! Happy Tuesday!

I thought I'd catch y'all up on some random things going on in my life today:

1. My life right now is surrounded by babies and I LOVE IT! Between Miss Hallie Faith, little Micah (son of a girl I work with) and incoming baby girl by another coworker in September, I have spent part of my morning looking at baby clothes. SMOCKED baby clothes! I DIE! I found them on Zulily - which doesn't just have baby clothes.

2. I have two big countdowns going on in my life. I'm not sure which one I am more excited about... ;).

3. Green smoothies. Do y'all have any recipies? I have been trying to drink them for breakfast and when I added greek yogurt, it tasted like sour cream was in there. When I added vanilla greek yogurt, it tasted like vanilla sour cream. BLECH! Stuart made one this morning with blueberries, raspberries, blackberries, Trop 50 and spinach and that has been my favorite yet. But this girl needs some protein! Any suggestions?

4. The sweet  Laura Beth allowed me to guest post on her adorable blog yesterday. Y'all go check it out here :).

5. Anyone have any good tutorials on painting furniture for the firs time? We got a bedroom set from Stuart's grandparents that I plan on painting white for our bedroom. Any tips would be great!

Y'all have a great day!

Love, Love Will Keep Us Together

April at A Liz Adventures has a super fun link up where you share about your love :) I thought I'd hop in and join! Cause, ya know, 3 posts is a lot for a girl and a link up is a great prompt. Thanks for saving my butt, April!

{1} Describe your dating life prior to finding your husband/boyfriend/fiance.
I dated a guy in high school for a while, and I had an on/off thing with a friend for a few years in college but there was nothing really exciting happening.  So...boring? Ha!

(On our first date to see the singer who will now be our first dance song singer. Confused? :) )

{2} Describe your husband/boyfriend/fiance in one word. How would he describe you in one word?
Bah - this is hard!
Stuart: hardworkinggoofball (does that count?)
Me: stubborn (I am sure - he didn't respond in time to get his real answer!)
(supporting me during my 1/2 marathon in Memphis two birthdays ago)

{3} You had a really silly fight. Embarrassing silly. What was it about?
Generally our stupid fights are about something football related. Especially during the fall. Like the way the 'hoos pansied out at the end of a game. He will say its strategy. I will say its weakness ;).
(he chose to wear his UVA tie for part of our engagment photos. I was not amused - at least for this picture, ha! Although I do have on a maroon sweater and orange earrings. Go hokies!)

{4} In three sentences (and only three!), describe where you both hope to be in 5 years.
  1. Both working jobs that fulfill us in our professional lives - mine might be one of a stay-at-home variety (at least part time, fingers crossed!).
  2. Getting our "forever home" built, or possibly moving into it!
  3. Hopefully with a little nugget of our own - definitely with some sort of puppy nugget!
(with my favorite "niece", Miss Hallie Faith!)
{5} Tell us something about your husband/boyfriend/fiance we wouldn't know from reading your blog.
He and my dad are probably tied for the smartest people I know. Stuart is incredibly gifted at what he does as a software engineer, and he even graduated valedictorian of his high school class. I'm just a little proud ;).

{6} What's one thing you never thought you'd do in front of your husband/boyfriend/fiance, but you did?
I am as open as a book with most things - but probably argue about dumb stuff with my sister. We are each other's best friends, but we can also get into some knockdown dragouts. Fortunately, we've both gotten a little older and that has settled down quite a bit :).

Y'all go link up! Happy Thursday friends!

Wedding Wednesday!

Two posts in two days - what? Shocking I know.

I also got up at 6 this morning, went for a run, made a green smoothie for breakfast, packed my lunch and started dinner in the crock pot. I don't even know myself anymore!

We got a bunch of wedding stuff knocked out over the past two weeks so I wanted to update my list!

Over the last two weeks we:

  • Picked a first dance song!
  • Stuart picked the mens attire - finally!!!
  • Decided on and paid for the DJ. My mom and I met with him last Friday afternoon and he is so nice and not too cheesy, PTL
  • Momma ordered her MOB dress. I LOVE it!
  • Contracted the florist/cake baker. She does both and has wonderful reviews in our area. People fight over her! She is a bit quirky but does a beautiful job. When I brought her some inspiration pictures for our cake, she picked the one Stuart and I liked best and said it would be easy! Plus - she makes buttercream look like fondant so the whole thing is delicious!
  • Ordered the big part of my bridesmaid gifts :) I know at least two of you read the blog so no sneak peeks here!
  • Kicked my butt into gear. I don't know what it was about the five month mark, but I need to rock this dress and running is a mind clearer for me so I am back hitting the pavement. And trying to eat better :)

Right now I am working on the invitations and my momma is on the hotel situation like white on rice. It is coming together! Only 137 days left!

Summer TV To Watch List

I know, I know, I have a lot of catching up to do with y'all. Just know that a lot of my time has been spent moving stuff over the last few weeks - our stuff and then Stuart's parents stuff. So that's boring. But I know I owe some house pictures!

Another side note: I actually got my butt up and went for a run this morning. Its been F-O-R-E-V-E-R but exploring my new neighborhood gave me some motivation. Plus this girl has a wedding dress to rock in 138 days!!

Onto my must watch list for this summer:

1. Scandal. People keep telling me to watch it and it is on Netflix. The question is - will Stuart watch it with me or not?

2. Nashville. I watched the first few episodes but then got busy with work and fell out of watching it. I know Stuart won't watch this one with me!

3. Finish The Office. We have been working on this for the past month or so and are up to season 8. Can I just say how much I miss Michael Scott??

4. Dexter. I watched the first few seasons and then kind of forgot about it.

Any other suggestions?? Happy Tuesday!

We're Officially Homeowners!!!

With the Good Lord's grace, my internet abilities, Stuart's financial sense and some wonderful real estate agents and lawyers - WE HAVE A HOUSE!!!

I will continue with the homebuying process series later this week, but I wanted to do a quick recap!

Friday we got up, went to the final walk through, headed to the lawyers office and CLOSED ON THE HOUSE!!!

(This would be the seller's Realtor changing the sign to sold - yes I am a creeper :) )

(The paperwork!)

We ended up packing a bunch of stuff before we went to the closing so we could immediately move some stuff in. We got a free TV off craigslist (its old, but huge and works PERFECTLY!) and some Crate and Barrel tables for SUCH A STEAL! We also moved my mattress in immediately.

Lets just say, I need to spend some time at the gym lifting weights if we are going to keep moving stuff ourselves!

We were both exhausted on Friday night so we grabbed some local pizza and local brewed beer and settled down with a few episodes of The Office :).

By 10pm - this was my view :). Mattress in the middle of the floor in front of the TV! We have lots of work to do - obviously!

Can you see my favorite part? The real wood floors!!! This picture does not do them justice :).

We will be internet less for a few more days but I will try and take some pics as things progress!
